Hunting is an important part of our lives as humans. Early humans advanced based on their skill as hunters. As these successful hunter gatherers developed agriculture they gained very valuable time. Time to further improve their food collection and development skills, time to establish homes and communities instead of depending on strictly nomadic lives, time to invent and time to reflect. Our brains have grown and allowed a unique trait in the animal world. We human animals can reason and problem solve like no other species.
Hunting now is largely a recreational activity we even call it free time. This Memorial Day weekend we at TYHP hope you will use some of your valuable free time to reflect on the real meaning of this special day. It is said that 1 percent of the US population serves in the military, thankfully only a smaller portion make the ultimate sacrifice. Memorial Day is a time to remember those who gave their lives in service to their country. Their sacrifices allow us to use our free time as we see fit. We hope you all have a safe, happy and reflective Memorial Day. Gone but never forgotten.
